Local charity benefit from “Car Park works project”

Towards the end of last year, David Evans, Paul Sartori Foundation Chair of Trustees, approached WB Griffiths & Son, a local building and civil engineering business. The Paul Sartori head office, where they provide Bereavement Counselling & Complementary Therapies, and carry out their clinical coordination, fundraising and administration, had a number of hazards within their visitor and staff car park. The office, which is based in Winch Lane, Haverfordwest, approached several companies but they were unable to take on the project for numerous reasons.

Utilising the Arts to Improve Children and Young People’s Mental Health

Following a successful pilot programme, designed to improve mental health and reduce feelings of distress for children and young people known to its Specialist Children and Adolescent Mental Health Service (SCAMHS), Hywel Dda University Health Board (UHB) is delighted to announce funding has been secured for another year and referrals for Arts Boost 2 are now open.

Several creative and innovative projects are being trialled in Pembrokeshire in an effort to combat period poverty across local communities.
Since 2019 all local authorities in Wales have been issued an allocation of the Period Dignity Grant, and in Pembrokeshire, the grant spend is not only being spent on sanitary products, but also on empowering young people to make informed decisions as to what best suits their needs and bodies.

Construction to start on new Welsh medium Primary School Ysgol Gymraeg Bro Penfro

Preliminary works have started on the site of the latest Welsh medium Primary School project for Pembrokeshire County Council.
Following the decisions of Cabinet during the latter part of 2022 to fund a shortfall in capital funding towards the Ysgol Gymraeg Bro Penfro project, the construction contract has been awarded to Morgan Sindall Construction & Infrastructure Ltd.
Preliminary works on the site in Pembroke have now commenced.

Holocaust Memorial Day marks the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, and remembers the six million Jews murdered during the Holocaust and everyone killed in the genocides that followed in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.

Oaktree Lights Christmas Lights Raise vital funds

Local Hook residents, Tyron and Sarah Williams once again took months to plan, decorate and program over 9900 LED lights to create a wonderful Christmas display at their house. The display was open to the public to view from 1st December to 31st December 2022, and it proved extremely popular with people travelling from as far as Tenby, Saundersfoot and Fishguard.

On Saturday 10th December, Côr Dyfed Choir held a spectacular, sell out concert in St Davids Cathedral in aid of Paul Sartori Foundation. ‘Carols by Candlelight’ was the name of the concert and it was a celebration of Christmas in music and readings. The choir was conducted by Luke Spencer, whilst Simon Pearce played the organ.
