Gardener’s World presenter to design accessible garden for Scolton Manor

The Norman Industries team at Scolton Manor in Haverfordwest is helping Gardener’s World presenter Sue Kent to make her first ‘show garden’ at Hampton Court Flower Show.
The event, which is taking place between 4 – 9 July 2022, will showcase Sue’s design for a garden that enable people with disabilities to work in and enjoy a garden.

When Teaching Assistant Emma Day works 1:1 with pupil Evelyn Smoothy at Ysgol Clydau she knows exactly how it feels to learn as a deaf young person in Pembrokeshire.
Emma, 21, is deaf herself, and her recruitment to the post is believed to be the first appointment of its type in a mainstream school in Wales.

A man who robbed a woman at knifepoint has started a five-year prison sentence just one month after the attack.
Kieran Steven Brumby admitted holding a knife to the woman’s throat and demanding the £160 she was withdrawing from a cashpoint at Asda in Pembroke Dock at around 7.45pm on April 15.

Become a Force for Nature with the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Trust

A popular mini-grant scheme run by the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Trust is open once again for applications.
Last year, 10 local non-profit groups received Force for Nature mini-grants of up to £500 for projects with a positive environmental impact, including a community wildflower meadow and bug hotel in the village of Summerhill, biodiversity improvements at the Slash Pond Boardwalk in Broad Haven and a sensory garden at Ysgol Harri Tudur.

The application process is now open for a one-off £500 payment to eligible unpaid carers in Wales.
The Welsh Government scheme, administered by Pembrokeshire County Council, is open to all unpaid carers in Wales who were in receipt of Carers Allowance on 31 March 2022.
