On Saturday 16th March two teams from Redhill Preparatory School in Haverfordwest went up to Cardiff for the 2024 Welsh Primary Schools Team Chess Championship. There were 26 schools competing from across Wales and the competition was fierce.

Tenby Harbour and North Beach users are being asked to be aware of heavy moving machinery from Tuesday March 26th to Friday 29th as dredging work is carried out.

Sand will removed from the mouth of the Harbour and deposited at the north end of the beach. The work will not affect vessel movements at the Harbour.

Partnership focus on school transport safety

Three members of a Pembrokeshire farming family have been sentenced for deliberately swapping cattle ear tags; actions that saw animals with Bovine Tuberculosis (TB) reactors remain on the farm.

Bovine Tuberculosis is a zoonotic infection that can infect many species, including humans and wildlife, though transmission to humans in the UK is very rare as a result of control measures in place across the agricultural and food industries.

The 24 metre Irish trawler had five crew onboard and was some 21 nautical miles North West of Strumble Head when HM Coastguard tasked our charity's Welsh lifeboats just before midday.

The all-weather lifeboats and volunteer crew made best speed to the scene, with Coastguard search and rescue helicopter R936 from Caernarfon also tasked to assist. The helicopter arrived on scene first and lowered a water pump to the vessel. With no casualties reported, New Quay lifeboat was stood down en-route.
