Local Artist of the Week

19 year old Kiah Lindsay from the Tenby area is a singer/songwriter who has just recorded and released a 10 track entirely self-penned album, called Meet Me, on the Cwtch Records label.

Jess Ward, from Pembroke, is a multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter who is best known as a talented harpist and who is well known on the local acoustic and folk circuits both as a solo performer and as part of Ceilidh bands playing for tympaths.

Ryan Bristow is a young singer, songwriter and guitarist who lives in Milford Haven. He has an amazing voice and is a talented player too.

The Swingin Nettles are a Gypsy Jazz band from south Pembrokeshire playing in the style of greats such as Stephane Grapelli and Django Rheinhardt.

Funktion 22 is a terrific eight-piece band formed in 2022 to play funk, soul, and pop (hence the name!) - they are experienced musicians who hail from all over the shire.

Jerry Evans is the man who bought the old Haverfordwest post office and helped turn it into the marvellous community centre it is today - Haverhub. Jerry is also responsible for the creation of Dark Street Studios in what was the much missed Swales Music Centre, next door to the Pure West Radio HQ.

Dangerous Flamingo was a project to bring together musicians to develop the songs and writings of Lisa and Ali and has now become a fully-fledged (pardon the pun) band.

International Women’s Day has been celebrated at Haverfordwest Airport with recognition of the inspirational women involved in STEM careers in South-West Wales and a chance for young people to gain an insight into the wealth of opportunities available in Aviation and Engineering.

Tim & Sarah Williams are husband and wife visual artists from Keeston. Tim is an accomplished sculptor working in metal and Sarah is a painter and collagist. They have exhibited regularly throughout Pembrokeshire, together and separately, including at St Davids Cathedral. Sarah is also featured in a recent book about 10 'Women Artists in Wales'. One of her latest works, a re-interpretation of the traditional Welsh women's costume which explores notions of gender identity, is pictured.
